Pyramid Golf

The different piles

Escalator solitaire is also more commonly known as Pyramid Golf, which gives a clearer idea of what the game is about.

There are three different areas in Escalator solitaire. They are:

• The Pyramid: Twenty eight cards are layed out face up in the shape of a triangle.
• The Stock: The cards not used in the pyramid are placed in the stock pile in the bottom left corner.
• The Foundation: The face up pile next to the stock. You can add a card onto the foundation when it is one lower or higher than the current top card.

Details

• Pyramid Golf is a mixture of the distinctive layout of pyramid solitaire combined with the one point higher/lower gameplay mechanism of golf solitaire.
• The step up and step down nature of the game gives rise to it's alternative name of escalator.
• All cards on the pyramid that are not covered by another are available to play.
• Move a card from the pyramid that is one higher or lower in rank than the one on the foundation.

The goal

• The aim of the game is to move all the cards from the pyramid to the foundation.
